Integrity

By definition, the word integrity means an adherence to moral and ethical principles. This, however, is not the only definition. It also referrs to something as being sound and structurally without flaw. I believe that if we live integritous lives we live up to both meanings. By this I mean that if we do what is right and stick to our moral standards, then our conscience and other aspects of our lives will be sound and without flaw. It is very simple to live with integrity. As college students (especially as Converse women) we know right from wrong. We just have to stick to the honor code and treat others with courtesy and respect. We are living with integrity every time we do our homework or refrain from cheating or plagarising. we also show integrity outside the academic part of our lives. For instance when we chose to hold the door open for someone with an arm full of books or invite someone that is alone to sit with your table at lunch. All these things are so simple and there is really no excuse for us not to do them. By living with integrity we make ourselves and others happy.

Acclimating myself to the college life

Originally I thought that there wouldn't be THAT much difference between high school & college. Sure, the classes would be more difficult and I'd be living away from home, but it's still just school...right? Wrong. Suddenly it's up to me what time I wake up, when I do my homework, where I go, & what I do in my free time. As the first week of classes went by, I found myself responsible for a great deal of homework. I started to think of ways to complete all my tasks while still being able to have fun as a college student. I found that reading my book for IDC with my friends was fun & beneficial. We were spending time together, but we were also bouncing ideas off of each other and discussing what we just read. For my other classes I just had to tell myself that I could spend time with friends later & lock myself in my room till my homework was completed. I plan on scheduling a time frame for each class that's specifically for homework. Hopefully it will work. :)
